New Web-based Resource for Bio Jobs
The University has subscribed to a new
service that lists positions for holders of advanced degrees. The "Bio
Career Center" is an extensive job resource for life sciences postdocs as
well as graduate students, alumni, and medical residents. This web-based job
board, which has also been used at Stanford and UC-Berkeley, includes nearly
400 graduate-level positions in areas such as drug development, clinical
practice, clinical trials management, science policy, consulting, and more.
This new resource is free to users and has been obtained by The Graduate
School, the School of Medicine, and the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. Go

Postdoctoral Fellowship
Award Program
Description
Individuals selected for
fellowships conduct independent research in
ETS’s offices in Princeton, N.J. A wide-variety
of research is acceptable including: measurement
theory, validity, natural language processing
and computational linguistics, cognitive
psychology, learning theory, linguistics, speech
recognition and processing, teaching and
classroom research, and statistics.
Program Goals
The goals of the program are to
- provide research opportunities to
individuals who hold a doctorate in the
fields indicated above
- increase the number of women and
underrepresented minority professionals
conducting research in educational
measurement and related fields
Award Duration
The fellowship is for a period of up to two
years, renewable after the first year by mutual
agreement.
Award Value
- $50,000 stipend
- Limited relocation reimbursement
expenses (consistent with ETS policy)
Eligibility
- Doctorate in a relevant discipline
within the past three years
- Evidence of prior research
Selection
The main criteria for selection are the
candidate’s scholarship and the technical
strength of the proposed topic of research.
Another key factor is the explicit objective of
the research and its
relationship to ETS research goals and
priorities. ETS affirmative action objectives
are considered.

POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN PARIS
These three-year fellowship positions are open to American post-doctoral
scientists wishing to pursue research at the Institut Pasteur. With 2500
people of 60 nationalities, the 130 research labs of the Institut Pasteur
are devoted to the basic science of improving global public health with
particular emphasis on infectious diseases. Packages are $70,000 per year

INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED STUDY,
School of Historical Studies, Opportunities for Scholars 2009-2010
The Institute is an independent private institution
founded in 1930 to create a community of scholars focused on intellectual
inquiry, free from teaching and other university obligations. Scholars from
around the world come to the Institute to pursue their own research. Those
chosen are offered membership for a set period and a stipend. The Institute
provides access to extensive resources including offices, libraries,
subsidized restaurant and housing facilities, and some secretarial services.
Open to all fields of historical research, the School of Historical Studies'
principal interests are the history of western, near eastern and Asian
civilizations, with particular emphasis upon Greek and Roman civilization,
the history of Europe (medieval, early modern, and modern), the Islamic
world, East Asian studies, the history of art, the history of science,
philosophy, modern international relations, and music studies. Candidates of
any nationality may apply for a single term or a full academic year.
Residence in Princeton during term time is required. The only other
obligation of Members is to pursue their own research. The Ph.D. (or
equivalent) and substantial publications are required. Information and
