GENERAL INFORMATION:
Missoula is a fun and vibrant college town with an abundance of cultural and recreational activities nearby. Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks are within a few hours drive and Flathead Lake is only 1.5 hours away. Missoula is bordered on one side by the Rattlesnake Wilderness area so hiking is always right out the back door. There are also down hill and cross country ski areas very near to Missoula.
Students will receive e-mail notification prior to their arrival which will include housing placement, directions, attending assignments, etc. The email will also include an orientation schedule. Orientation occurs the first day of the clerkship. Any questions can be directed to Dr. Schlesinger or Megan at the phone/email listed above.
HOUSING ADDRESSES:
Housing information will be sent to you prior to your rotation.
DESCRIPTION OF HOUSING:
The provided housing for Missoula WWAMI students is a three bedroom house one block from The University of Montana campus. It is within walking distance of downtown Missoula and within a short drive of all clinical locations. No pets or smoking are allowed. The house is fully furnished including a washer and dryer, linens, and kitchen utensils. We ask that mail be sent to the clerkship office if possible rather than directly to the house.
PHONE/INTERNET:
Wireless internet is included at the house as well as at the hospital, University, clerkship office, and many coffee shops around town. There is no phone landline at the house. Library facilities are available on the U of M campus or at St. Patrick Hospital
TRANSPORTATION:
Transportation will be necessary. A car or bicycle is a must.
PARKING FACILITIES:
Please park next to or in the garage behind the house, accessed by the alley. There is parking available to students at all clinical sites.
PAGERS
Pagers are provided for the clerkship.
