A Catalyst for Collaboration: Supporting Technology in Teaching through Partnerships
by Mark Alway and Tom Lewis (Ed-Tech Development Group) and Scott Macklin October 2000 View: Web-based PowerPoint presentation Read: Full paper (PDF; 12 pages) The Web-based Catalyst Initiative was created at the University of Washington (UW) to support innovation in teaching through technology. The approach utilizes participatory design techniques in the development of next generation technologies in order to scale beyond early to second wave adopters. Catalyst is the product of a support strategy that has centered on collaborative partnerships with campus teaching practitioners--learning, technology, and teaching research centers, libraries, and departments--to leverage resources and spread promising practices throughout the university. |
