History of the School

Charles W. Johnson

Under his brilliant leadership from 1902 to 1939, the new school achieved a national reputation for superior education. Dean Johnson's pet slogan was, "Success means 24 hours on the job," and the 1932 UW Tyee said of him: "When he works, he works and when he doesn't work, he works."
