Alumnus Establishes School of Pharmacy Trust Al James, ’55, has created a diverse career path for himself — from pharmacist to business entrepreneur to real estate investor. He largely credits the School of Pharmacy for giving him the skills necessary to succeed in all his professional endeavors. Now, he and his wife, Carolynn, are giving back to the School in the form of a charitable lead trust. Read more in the UW alumni magazine, Columns U.S. News & World Report Ranks the School Fifth Nationally The UW School of Pharmacy ranks fifth among pharmacy schools in the country, according to annual rankings of graduate and professional programs provided by U.S. News & World Report. The School was tied for fifth with Ohio State University, University of Kentucky, and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. The School was ranked 13th by U.S. News & World Report in 2007. The 2008 rankings are based on surveys of PharmD pharmacy programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. Bridge Endowment Names Lam and Odegard Annie Lam and Peggy Odegard, co-directors of the Plein Certificate in Geriatric Pharmacy, are the first to receive the recently established Shirley and Herb Bridge Endowed Professorships in Pharmacy. This endowment, created by the Bridges to promote programs in geriatrics will support the initial funding to establish a Medication Therapy Management (MTM) training program in the school.
