Health Care and the Media: Perceptions, Truth, and Possibilities

  • If you have answered yes to any one of these questions, you will not want to miss this year’s Don B. Katterman Memorial Lecture!

    Time: 9 am- 12:15 pm (registration starts at 8:30 am)
    Where: UW Health Sciences Building, Room T-435 (same place as last year)
    What: Panelists Jean Enerson of King 5 Television, Patricia Murphy of KUOW 94.9 Radio, Carol Ostrom of The Seattle Times and Tina Mankowski of UW Healthscience News and Community Relations will discuss what goes into making health care issues part of today’s news. Former investigative television news reporter and current Executive Director of the Pharmacy Access Partnership, Belle Taylor-McGhee will discuss methods on how to effectively communicate important issues to the media and your patients.
    Cost: Registration fees for those wishing to receive CE credit are $40 for Pharmacy Alumni Association (PAA) members, $65 for non-PAA members. The registration fee for all guests, pharmacists and others, who do not wish to receive CE credit, is $20. PAA membership may be purchased or renewed for $45 (or $35 for retired pharmacists or those over 65.) A $10 late fee will be applied to payments postmarked after June 8 or day of registration.
    CEU Credit: 3.0 contact hours (0.3 CEUS) of continuing pharmacy education credit. No partial credit will be given. Registrants must sign-in, attend the entire conference, and complete and submit an evaluation form at the end of the program to receive credit.
    Register: You should be receiving an invitation in the mail shortly. Should you not wish to wait for the invitation you may register by providing your name, mailing address, daytime phone number, email, and last four digits of SSN OR Rx License Number (Needed for CE credit) along with payment in the form of check made out to: Pharmacy Alumni Association or PAA (Sorry but we are not yet set up to accept credit cards – checks only.)
