Meeting the health care needs of the 21st
century requires the finest minds in pharmaceutical care and research.
The UW School of Pharmacy is fortunate to be recognized by top applicants
as one of the most innovative and sought-after schools in the nation.
The availability
of financial support often plays a decisive role in a student’s
choice of schools, however.
Your scholarship and fellowship support enables the School to remain competitive
in recruiting top candidates. It also ensures that we accept and retain
high-caliber students who can undertake the challenge of leading pharmaceutical
care into the future.

Your support makes a difference
After receiving a scholarship from
the Muriel Vincent Endowed Scholarship Fund, Emily Schulze became
inspired not only to work to her fullest potential as a future pharmacist,
but also to give back to the community and future generations of
pharmacy students once she gets her degree. Before coming to the
School of Pharmacy, she knew she wanted to be a part of a profession
where she could interact with individuals to provide education and
to somehow improve their lives. Now entering her fourth year at
the School, Emily is sure that Pharmacy is the right profession
for her. Emily is grateful for the support she received, which allows
her to worry less about finances and concentrate more on her studies.
As a result of her interest in independent pharmacy, she is actively
involved in the National Community Pharmacist Association both locally
(as senior chapter president at the UW School of Pharmacy) and nationally
(on the Student Executive Council). "My passion lies in interacting
with people and helping them understand their medications,"
she said. "I hope that over my career I can have a positive
impact and bring quality, individualized care to my practice and
patients."
