The University of Washington
The University of Washington is affiliated with the University of Washington
Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, and Children's Hospital and
Regional Medical Center. The University of Washington Medical Center provides
tertiary care services along with primary and secondary care services.
Harborview Medical Center is a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center
and comprehensive medical care facility. Children's Hospital and Regional
Medical Center is the primary pediatric institution for the City of Seattle
and is the main pediatric tertiary care center for the Northwest. It provides
a wide variety of specialized clinics and departments for the diagnosis
and treatment of infant, childhood and adolescent diseases.
The University of Washington Centers excel in patient
care services and clinical research. At the University of Washington Medical
center and Clinics, there are a wide range of women's health care clinics
including the Women's Health Care Center and Maternal Infant Care Clinics
with Specialty Obstetric Clinics for patients with Hypertension, Diabetes
and Prematurity Prevention needs, as well as progressive lactation support
services and Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Therapy Programs which provide
unique expertise to the patients. The University of Washington Medical
Center also has a Level III Neonatal intensive Care Unit. Obstetrical
care at UWMC is provided by teams of Perinatologists, Obstetricians, Faculty
Physicians, Residents, Nurse Midwives and other health-care providers.
Providence Everett Medical Center
In 2002, the University of Washington, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
opened cooperative clinics at Providence Medical Center. The University
of Washington, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides the Maternal
Fetal Medicine staffing of the Obstetric Unit. The University of Washington
School of Pharmacy conducts research with the Everett Clinic and Providence
Everett Medical Center.
