  • perceptions and attitudes of clinicians that influence adoption of electronic health records

    Dr. Devine’s work is supported by a Mentored Clinical Scientist Training Grant (K-08) from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Prior to joining the faculty at UW she completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research with the UW Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research & Policy Program and Roche Pharma Business, Health Economics and Strategic Pricing Group, in Palo Alto, CA. Before that, she was an Associate Clinical Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of California San Francisco, where she was responsible for medication safety and quality, formulary management and clinical pharmacy practice protocols. She has experience as an advanced practice pharmacist with prescriptive authority in the academic, community hospital and ambulatory clinic settings where she practiced on neurosurgical, internal medicine, critical care, and pediatrics services. She is a board-certified pharmacotherapist specialist and a fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Devine began her career by completing a clinical pharmacy residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA.

    Activities

    Dr. Devine is a past member of the student editorial advisory board of the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association; and a past member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Health System Pharmacy. She holds membership in Academy Health, American Medical Informatics Association, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research. She is a past president, chair of the board, and board member of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists, where she led an initiative to advance prescribing authority for California pharmacists. At ASHP, she has served on the Council on Educational Affairs, in the House of Delegates, and as board member and chair of the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists.
