Experience
Dana Hammer is the Director of the Bracken Pharmaceutical
Care Learning Center. Prior to this appointment she served as the UW Community Pharmacy Residency Program
for the University of Washington School of Pharmacyand Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice
at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy.
In this capacity she was a member of the curriculum committee, chair
of the assessment committee, and co-designer and course master for
a 5-semester Professional Skills Development course sequence.
In her graduate coursework, Dr. Hammer focused
on education, sociology and psychology as they relate to pharmacy
and other health professions' education. She has served as a faculty
member for two AACP Institutes and has presented faculty development
workshops on student assessment, professionalism, active learning
techniques, and the scholarship of teaching to faculty at several
pharmacy schools and national conferences. She also serves on the
editorial board of the Journal of Pharmacy Teaching. Dr. Hammer
has won several awards for teaching, innovations in teaching and
education, and educational research.
