Experience
Dr. Sullivan, is a professor in the Schools of
Pharmacy and Public Health/Community Medicine, the Director of the
Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy Program (PORPP), and
an adjunct professor in the Allergy Section of the Department of
Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Dr. Sullivan is Past President of the International
Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and a member
of the International Health Economics Association and the Academy
of Managed Care Pharmacy. He was also a member of the Task Force
on Cost-Effectiveness, Quality, and Financing of Asthma Care in
the US National Asthma Education and Prevention Program, National
Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. He has also served as a member
of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Task Force
on the Cost-Effectiveness, Quality of Care, and Financing of Asthma
Care of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. His research
has included clinical and economic outcomes associated with adult
and pediatric asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and
end-stage emphysema.
Activities
Professor Sullivan is a member of the Association
for Health Services Research, the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics
and Outcomes Research, the International Health Economics Association,
and the Society for Medical Decision Making.
He is a member of the scientific committee of
the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) and a past member of the
Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD). Dr.
Sullivan also is a member of the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee
(MCAC). Dr Sullivan is an editor for Value in Health and a member
of the editorial boards of Pharmacoeconomics, and the Journal of
Managed Care Pharmacy. He has written more than 200 journal articles,
book chapters, and organizational and governmental publications,
including many on the economics of asthma and COPD treatments.
Professor Sullivan is also on the Editorial Board
of PharmacoEconomics, Pharmacotherapy and Managed Care and Cancer
and is the author of more than 75 peer-review papers and book chapters.
