Deborah J. Bowen, Ph.D.
Dr. Deborah Bowen is a Member of the Public Health Sciences Division, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, a Professor in the Department of Health Services, School of Public Health, University of Washington, and an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Psychology, University of Washington.
Dr. Bowen's research interests are in exploring the effects of community and of new technologies, including genetic testing and new communication technologies, on individuals' and communities' health outcomes, on primary and secondary prevention outcomes, and on quality of life. All of her current projects relate to health behavior change and health related outcomes change. She has conducted several randomized trials to improve health behaviors and health-related quality of life for individuals and organizations using population-based samples. Each tests a different intervnetion to improve health behaviors and health outcomes.
