Patricia C. Kuszler, M.D., J.D.
Dr. Patricia Kuszler is the Associate Dean for Faculty Research and Development at the University of Washington School of Law, Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Bioethics & Humanities, and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Health Services.
Dr. Kuszler joined the faculty of the School of Law at the University of Washington in 1994 to develop and teach in a health law program, after practicing health law with Hogan & Hartson in Washington, D.C. Prior to pursuing a career in the law, she practiced emergency medicine in New York and Connecticut and later served as a medical director for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Connecticut. She is actively involved as core faculty in the Public Health Genetics Program. She recently co-authored a casebook in health law, The Law and American Health Care (Aspen Law and Business, 1998). Professor Kuszler 's teaching and research interests include the impact of law and regulation upon health care delivery, health care finance, emerging integrated delivery systems, health insurance fraud and abuse, research standards and misconduct, and legal, ethical and policy issues presented by genetic information and the biotechnology industry.
