Jill Scott, MPH, 2008, JD, 2008
After receiving undergraduate degrees in microbiology and international studies from Oregon State University, Jill Scott decided she wanted to learn more about health law and policy. She enrolled in the UW concurrent degree program in law and public health, where she was able to combine the best of both worlds: classes on big-picture policy items as well as instruction on detailed scientific principles in genetics and epidemiology. During her time at UW, Jill wrote her thesis on the corporate structure and intellectual property policies of public-private partnerships developing genetically-based global health solutions to address malaria, AIDS, and tuberculosis. She also worked as an intern at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, where she helped with implementation of the International Health Regulations.
Current Position: Health Law Attorney, Bennett Bigelow & Leedom, Seattle, WA
