Student Profile

Catharine Riley is pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Washington because of the high caliber faculty and wide range of research opportunities available. The Institute for Public Health Genetics provides an incredible interdisciplinary opportunity to meld public health practice and academic research. The IPHG faculty are leading experts in genome sciences, genetic epidemiology, ecogenetics, ethics, law, and policy, and have inspired her to think about, and approach genetic research and genetic technology from every angle. She looks forward to applying what she has learned in this program to positively impact the future of public health genetics.
