26, 2001 NAAQS decision regarding No. 97-1440, American Trucking
Associations, Inc., et al., Petitioners v. Environmental Protection
Agency
- PM Center
research in collaboration with the CAMP childhood asthma study was
highlighted in
the local press and on KPLU,
a local NPR affiliate. This research, published in Environmental
Health Perspectives, showed an association between asthma symptoms
and the levels of particulates and carbon monoxide.
- The
Dept of Environmental Health Continuing Education series included
a day (May 16) on PM
Exposure Assessment given by Center members.
- US
Supreme Court upholds NAAQS: Court Opinion (PDF)
- The
third external review draft of PM Criteria
document has been superceded by the fourth external review draft (see
above).
- New
York Times discusses particulate
air pollution and the new draft of the Criteria Document.
- The
Center held a workshop
on the public health implications of smoke from wildfires and related
events such as prescribed burning of forests, June 5 & 6
