Premajor Extension Request Form

Please complete and submit the form below. An adviser will evaluate your academic record to determine your eligibility for a premajor extension. Premajor extensions are usually granted to students who:

  • have a reasonable chance of eventual admission to their desired major,
  • have carefully investigated alternative majors (if the desired major is competitive or has admission requirements), and
  • are taking appropriate courses to prepare for their desired and alternative majors.
After you submit this form, an adviser will contact you by email to:
  • let you know a premajor extension has been granted, or
  • request additional information, or
  • request that you meet in person with an adviser to discuss your academic plans.
Please allow at least three days for a response. If you need a premajor extension more quickly, you should meet with an adviser in person.
