Bylaws Committee Annual Report

In the spring and summer of 2006 the Bylaws Committee undertook a major revision of the PNC/MLA Bylaws: allowing electronic voting, delineating membership categories, and coming into compliance with the 2005 MLA Model Bylaws for Use by Chapters and Sections of the Medical Library Association, Inc. The PNC membership voted in July to accept the changes, the revised bylaws were submitted to MLA, and updated on our website.
In April 2007 the Membership Secretary, Susan Barnes, suggested an addition to Article III. Membership. Section 3. Rights and Privileges, to clarify that the newly created institutional Members have the same membership benefits as individual members. There has been confusion about this during membership renewal. At the Spring Board Meeting there was also discussion of adding a Treasurer-Elect to the Officers. The Bylaws Committee Chair has asked the Board to discuss these issues at the Annual meeting in Billings. The Committee will put together any proposed amendments agreed upon at that meeting and will conduct the voting prior to the end of 2007.
