Technology Committee January 2004 Report
The Basics of Electronic Document Delivery class that was taught on Friday afternoon 10/17 was co-developed by the committee chair (me) and a committee member (Bob Pringle) with content informed by the survey that the committee did in 2002. Nineteen attended the class and evaluations were positive, with the suggestion from several people that a similar class in a laboratory environment (where people could get hands-on experience with scanning documents, for example) would be very useful.
That 2002 survey was also part of the justification for the RML's new Electronic Document Delivery Awards, which were announced in July via HLIB-NW, PNRNews, and Dragonfly (http://nnlm.gov/pnr/news/200307/edd.html). Six proposals were received, and all six were funded by the RML. Similar funding has been requested for 2004.
