Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program

Funding for University of Washington undergraduates to participate in a full time summer research project related to Center goals.

Activities to introduce undergraduate researchers to the newly emerging field found at the intersection of human and ocean health sciences

Applications for 2010 fellowships due May 21

Up to three $3800 fellowships will be awarded to support undergraduate research in oceans and human health.

Two ways to apply:

  1. If you already have a faculty sponsor:
    Describe your proposed summer research in your essay.
    Your letter of recommendation must come from your faculty sponsor.
    Use this application.
     
  2. If you would like to be matched with a faculty sponsor:
    Examine current Center research descriptions and investigator home pages, identify up to three faculty sponsors who you might like to work with.
    Discuss the reasons you are interested in this research in your essay.
    Your letter of recommendation must come from a UW faculty member.
    Use this application.

Applications are due by 4pm May 21. They may be delivered in person to Ocean Teaching Building (OTB) room 119, or sent via email to h2oreu@u.washington.edu.
