Alumni Advisory Board
The Program on the Environment created the Environmental Studies Alumni Advisory Board (ESAAB) in early 2006 in order to provide alumni with resources for networking and professional development opportunities. Since its inception, a primary goal of the ESAAB has been to ensure that alumni, as well as current students are informed of the opportunities that continued involvement with the PoE provides. The ESAAB is also focused on maintaining and developing connections across the alumni community.
The board is made up of Environmental Studies alumni who are appointed to a one-year term and work cooperatively with PoE staff, directors, faculty, and other alumni. Many board members are involved with the Alumni Partnership Team, which began in 2005 to discuss opportunities for the growing number of PoE alumni. The board aims to assist PoE in tracking employment and activities of PoE alumni, planning educational and social events, mentoring current Environmental Studies students and recent graduates, providing opportunities for internships to PoE students, and building community partnerships and recognition.
