The purpose of the Environmental Studies minor is to broaden students' understanding of the scientific, technological, management, policy, legal, cultural, and ethical dimensions of environmental issues in areas beyond their chosen disciplines. Additionally, the Environmental Studies minor seeks to enhance student skills in communication, group work, decision-making, and conflict resolution. The Environmental Studies minor curriculum is comprised of two elements:
Core Courses (10 credits)
Environmental Perspectives and Experiences (20 credits)
Students will complete a total of 20 credits with a 2.0 or better, with a minimum of 3 credits each of the following Environmental Perspectives:
At least 10 of these credits must come from 300- and 400-level classes.
