Conservation of Living Systems

Overview

Growing human impacts on the environment have created an urgent need for a new type of conservation professional, one who is able to assess the causes and consequences of human impacts on living systems and work with the myriad of stakeholders inherent in any conservation issue. The Conservation of Living Systems (CLS) Graduate Program is designed to produce the next generation of professionals who will define and lead the field of conservation. CLS provides a multidisciplinary, solution-oriented program integrating rigorous academic training with communication, application and leadership skills. Students in this program will become directly involved with current conservation issues through hands-on learning experiences with professors and leaders from NGOs, government, and businesses directly involved in conservation.

Organization

CLS consists of a faculty Director, Graduate Program Coordinator and a steering committee.
