Environmental Studies Minor

Below are the requirements for the Environmental Studies minor beginning in Autumn 2006. Students who declared the minor prior to Autumn 2006 should contact an Environmental Studies Advisor to check their progress in the minor.

The purpose of the Environmental Studies minor is to broaden students' understanding of the scientific, technological, management, policy, legal, cultural, and ethical dimensions of environmental issues in areas beyond their chosen disciplines. Additionally, the Environmental Studies minor seeks to enhance student skills in communication, group work, decision-making, and conflict resolution. The Environmental Studies minor curriculum is comprised of two elements:

 

CORE COURSES (10 credits)

ENVIR 100 (5) offered SPR 07- see time schedule listing
ENVIR 200 (5) offered WIN 06

 

ENVIRONMENTAL PERSPECTIVES AND EXPERIENCES (20 Credits)

Students will complete a total of 20 credits, with a minimum of 3 credits each of the following Environmental Perspectives:

Human and Social Dimensions
Natural Sciences
Policy and Decision Making
Tools and Technologies
