journal to examine critically the histories and cultures of East Asia
and Asian America. Through scholarly articles, commentary, essays,
and in-depth book reviews, positions
focuses on the profound intellectual, political, and economic
transformations that are rapidly reconfiguring East Asia and Asian
America.
positions is the recipient of the "Best
New Journal" Award for 1995 given by the Council
of Editors of Learned Journals (CELJ). In 1999, CELJ awarded positions
6.3 "Empires of Hygiene" a Runner-Up
award in the "Best Special Issue" category.
