I hope you all enjoyed our snow-induced 5 day weekend! Two quick announcements:
1) The Bioethics Grand Rounds will take the place of our regular MEDIC meeting on Feb 22, 2012. Please note the room change. All of the details regarding the event are in the forwarded section below.
2) The National Undergraduate Bioethics Conference (NUBC) is taking place at the University of Denver March 23rd and 24th. Here is a link to the website for more information on registration, speakers, the bioethics debate bowl, etc: http://www.nubcdenver.com/ Please let me know if any of you might be interested in attending. Several MEDIC members attended the 2010 NUBC conference at University of Puget Sound and we had a great experience! I am planning on going in March, and would love to coordinate with anyone else interested in attending!

We invite you to join us for Bioethics Grand Rounds, co-sponsored by the Department of Bioethics & Humanities and the Ethics Advisory Committee at the University of Washington Medical Center.
Our guest speaker is Dr. Michael Souter MB ChB FRCA, Chief of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Harborview Medical Center. Dr. Souter will talk about the proposed changes coming from United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) regarding Donation after Cardiac Death (DCD). More details to follow.
