“Alliance of People with disAbilities fulfills a unique role in King County. As a Center for Independent Living, it supports and facilitates equal access for people with disAbilities to fully integrate into all aspects of the community. Our four core services are Information and Referral, Independent Living Skills, Advocacy and Peer Groups.

(Unpaid) interns and volunteers assist in staffing the front desk during Alliance business hours (9-4). Duties include: answering phones, fielding general questions, transferring calls, greeting participants, and assisting staff with various office duties including general filing and making photocopies. There may also be opportunities for data entry. Individuals are required to make a time commitment of 4-8 hours per week for this position. Benefits include membership at Alliance after 10 hours of service, gaining valuable real-world job skills, and completing required community service. Start date is 7/23/12 – Ongoing.”
