Dear Pre-Health Students,
Are you interested in planning or leading a week-long interactive shadowing experience in rural communities of Washington? Healthcare Alternative Spring Break Planner Committee and Team Leader applications are currently available at www.hcasb.org and will be due this coming Sunday, October 28th, 11:59 P.M.
Currently, 20% of U.S. citizens live in rural communities and only 10% of healthcare professionals work there. To help change this disparity, Healthcare Alternative Spring Break (HCASB) is determined to expose the next generation of healthcare professionals to the hardships that such rural communities face but also the rewards that rural medicine offers. Students are able to shadow orthopedic surgeons, cardiologists, optometrists, pediatricians, dentists, nurses and many other healthcare professionals. Team leaders will get the extraordinary opportunity to plan their own trip and develop their leadership skills. In addition, for those who are interested in networking and helping plan HCASB 2013, Planner Committee positions also include: Public Relations, Fundraising, Orientation, and Applications. For more information on the commitments and duties of each position, please check out the Applying & Planning page at www.hcasb.org or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Again, the due date is Sunday, October 28th, 11:59 P.M.
