Hello Advisors – please let your students know about our summer 3 credit course titled Rise & Development of Sports Medicine. It fulfills the I&S requirement.
This class will examine the evolution of medical thought related to exercise for good health, training for sport participation, and treatment of sport-related injuries. The class begins with ancient period and concludes with present. The class examines the development of specialization in sports medicine, sport team physicians, preventive medicine, concepts of fitness and wellness as related to exercise prescription, and sports medicine clinics. Instruction will be accomplished through informal lecture and discussion, backed by reading in original sources.
