Mid Week Announcements

Greetings Premeds, There are a few mid week announcements I would like to make. First, an update on the Officer Mentor Program. Many have asked about it so we are reopening the officer mentor survey. It is a new and improved version, so if you have not gotten a chance to fill it out yet, you can now (https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/jackmo/217942). Just remember that this is a benefit for official members (those who have interviewed and paid the fee). For those who have already filled out the first survey, sorry for the delay, but your officer mentor should be contacting you by the end of the weekend. If you have filled out the old survey and are an official member but do not hear from one the officers by the end of the weekend, contact me (jackmo@uw.edu). Also, just a reminder to come to our Army Doctor Social tomorrow night from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Thomson 134. Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Hustead, MD is a practicing Family Medicine physician who also spent time in Army Medicine. This is an awesome opportunity to learn about Army Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ROTC, and Family Medicine. Even if you’re not necessarily interested in these things, it’s always great to learn about something new and interesting! This will also count as a social event towards being an active member/physician shadowing eligibility! Please RSVP by TOMORROW: https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/eschrick/216969 And again, as a friendly reminder, eligibility in our mentor program as well as our shadowing program requires you to be an official member of AED. The shadowing program requires you to also be an “active” member, meaning you have attended 3 meetings/study sessions, 1 social event, and 1 philanthropy. I hope everyone has a great week and enjoys the long weekend! – Jack Mo Webmaster, AED 2013-2014
