Internship Opportunities at HEYO/Lifelong AIDS Alliance PEER ADVOCATE INTERN (2x): The Peer Advocate Internship is designed for a LGBTQ or Allied young adult who has experience working young gay/bi/trans* men, or young Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), regardless of sexual identity. Under close supervision and support the Peer Advocate Intern conducts outreach to young MSM in order to collect survey responses for a formative assessment project. The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate current knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors of young MSM in Seattle/King County in order to inform future programming and HIV/STI prevention efforts for at-risk populations. Outreach to the target population occurs in-person, at venues and events primarily frequented by young MSM, and online. The Peer Advocate Intern benefits from the position by developing and learning marketable skills for future employment. The Peer Advocate Intern works with and reports directly to Lifelong’s Assistant Prevention Education Manager. This position is a part-time, temporary, non-union position that does not extend beyond a total of 250 hours. The compensation is $12/hour.
