American Heart Association Internship

Impact Goal: By 2020, to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent, while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent.

What do Legacy Leaders DO?

  • COMMUNITY EDUCATION of Stroke, Heart Disease, Hands-Only CPR, Healthy Living & High Blood Pressure
  • Learn and understand how to talk about SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH
  • LEAD EFFORTS to build a culture of health in the community
  • COORDINATE community outreach and event implementation
  • RECRUIT new volunteers
  • RESEARCH and outreach new community strategic partnerships
  • DATA input

REQUIREMENTS for this internship?

  • DESIRE to volunteer your time to the community
  • Attend a mandatory TRAINING by AHA|ASA
  • A ONE-YEAR commitment to AHA|ASA
  • ATTEND three (3) American Heart Association events & LEAD your own event (with help from other Legacy Leaders, Officers, provided resources, etc.)
  • MONTHLY conference calls

What do I GET OUT of this internship?
