Youth Health Equity Model of Practice (YHEMOP) program – due 2/15

https://www.minorityhealth.hhs.gov/YHEMOP/index.html

The purpose of the YHEMOP is to support the future design, implementation, and evaluation of federal and public health workforce policies, specifically as it relates to capacity building for diverse organizations that promote health equity and/or address health disparities. Through this initiative, Health Equity Fellows (students enrolled in higher education studies) will be matched with diverse organizations to complete short-term Health Equity Projects that help improve health outcomes and close the gap on racial and ethnic disparities in health and health care. Moving forward, the website will have up-to-date information about placement opportunities and student applications, which are available to download online.

The student application for summer 2017 fellows is currently open and the deadline for student applications is February 15th, 2017.

The YHEMOP places Health Equity Fellows in diverse settings for 8-12 weeks during the summer.  The next YHEMOP summer cohort is currently scheduled for summer 2017. Fellows participating in summer cohorts will have access to YHEMOP Health Equity Programing with other Health Equity Fellows.
