My name’s Kit Rood, I’m a student in a the Biology department at UW and a member of the University of Washington chapter of Global Public Health Brigades. Global Brigades is an international volunteer organization with the goal of improving equality of life in under-developed countries by igniting the largest student-run social responsibility movement on the planet.

Global Public Health Brigades will be traveling to Honduras June 12th-19th, 2012 to be working in a rural community building water storage units, eco-stoves, concrete floors, and  latrines.Â

Volunteer Opportunities Abroad – Public Health Infrastructure Development

PUBLIC HEALTH BRIGADES INFO SESSION

Wednesdays Oct 5th, 12th,19th& 26th in PACCAR 295 @ 5:30PM

Do you want to be a part of empowering under resourced communities and helping decrease life threatening diseases by improving home infrastructure and providing public health education? Would you like to travel to beautiful Central America for a week in the summer? Come find out about University of Washington’s Public Health Brigade! We will be travelling June 12th-19th to a rural community in Honduras and working side-by-side with families and community members to build eco-stoves, latrines, concrete floors, and water storage units. We also spend a day in the local school providing a health lesson to the students about the impacts these new facilities will make on their quality of life. We would love anyone who’s interested to stop by our info session and learn about joining us on our brigade this summer. Speaking Spanish is not mandatory and translators will be provided during brigade.
