UW Asia ties

China Studies Program
    This UW program provides a broad understanding of the Chinese people and their culture, historical development and contemporary issues.

  UW East Asia Center
  The center promotes teaching and learning about China, Japan and Korea across disciplines, across campus and in the community.

 East Asia Resource Center
  The center at the UW invites K-12 educators to explore the wealth of opportunities available to them to deepen their knowledge of East Asia.

 Asia Law Center
  For 40 years, the Asian Law Program at the UW has been ranked as one of the finest and most comprehensive programs in this field worldwide.
 
 Asian Languages
  The Department of Asian Languages and Literature offers instruction in the principal languages and literatures of Asia.
 
  UW Worldwide
  Since Fall 2000, the UW has been engaged in a significant relationship with a partner university in southwest China, Sichuan University.


  Study Abroad
  UW programs and exchanges in China and throughout Asia.

  Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Emerging Infections Network
  This UW-based project is dedicated to providing timely and reliable information via the Internet on issues of emerging infectious diseases in the Asia Pacific.


  Department of Medical Education and Biomedical Informatics
  Sichuan University has partnered with the UW to train faculty for leadership roles at its new Center for Medical Education Research. The center is expected to become a resource for the entire nation and could play a critical role in medical education reform in China.


  Professor Stevan Harrell
   A UW faculty member since 1974, he has conducted extensive research in Taiwan, Sichuan, Yunnan, Zhejiang since 1970 and is curator of several museum exhibits on arts and cultures of China and Taiwan.

 UW Library Collections
   The Chinese Collection is devoted to Chinese-language research materials, mainly in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
   The East Asia Library holds over 254,000 volumes of Chinese printed materials, 6,300 microfilms reels, three online databases and more.
