Global learning opportunities promoted by Washington state delegation on mission to South Korea, Taiwan

UW President Mark Emmert is on a seven-day mission to promote Washington products and services in Seoul and Jeonju, South Korea, and Taipei, Taiwan. Gov. Christine Gregoire is leading the delegation of business, agriculture and education representatives. They left for Korea Friday, Oct. 13, 2006.

In Seoul, the governor's office said, representatives of Washington universities and colleges will sign collaborative agreements with Asian education institutions to provide global learning opportunities for Washington state students.

While in Korea, Emmert also has separately scheduled activities, events and meetings with donors, alumni leaders, UW senior advisers and Korean education leaders, among others.
