Southwest

Southwest Washington includes the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, and the urban center of Vancouver.

Each county in the Southwest region is served by UW rural medicine programs, and research is conducted at Mount St. Helen's, in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and on the coast. School districts in Lewis County participate in the Rural Girls in Science student outreach program.
