American Association of University Professors AAUP’s purpose is to advance academic freedom and shared governance, to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education, and to ensure higher education’s contribution to the common good.

American Educational Research Association The American Educational Research Association is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results.

American Educational Studies Association AESA is a society primarily comprised of college and university professors who teach and research in the field of education utilizing one or more of the liberal arts disciplines of philosophy, history, politics, sociology, anthropology, or economics as well as comparative/international and cultural studies. The purpose of social foundations study is to bring intellectual resources derived from these areas to bear in developing interpretive, normative, and critical perspectives on education, both inside of and outside of schools.

Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations & Voluntary Action Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations & Voluntary Action (ARNOVA) is an international, interdisciplinary membership organization. Our members include scholars and nonprofit leaders fostering the creation, application and dissemination of research on voluntary action, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy and civil society.

Urban Affairs Association The Urban Affairs Association is the international professional organization for urban scholars, researchers, and public service providers. UAA exists to encourage the dissemination of information about urbanism and urbanization, support the development of university education, research, and service programs in urban affairs, and provide leadership in fostering urban affairs as a professional and academic field.

Leadership and Policy

Academy of Management The Academy of Management is a leading professional association for scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations. Founded in 1936 by two professors, AOM is the oldest and largest scholarly management association in the world. Today, the Academy is the professional home for members from 85 nations.

Association for Education Finance and Policy As a dynamic organization, AEFP (formerly AEFA) needs to tackle the important education finance issues of the day. They are not solely about funding mechanisms and alternative approaches to taxation. Teachers’ decisions about where to teach and how to teach strongly affect the cost of education. Moreover, both federal and state policies now link governance and instructional practices directly to finance. Key education finance policymakers also are key policymakers for personnel policies, governance policies, and curricular and instructional policies. Our journal has reflected this link between finance and policy since its inception.

Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) encourages excellence in research, teaching, and practice in the field of public policy analysis and management. APPAM operates through its annual fall and spring conferences, a newsletter, and the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management (JPAM). APPAM’s membership includes individual and institutional members, practitioners, scholars and students.

International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration IASIA is an association of organizations and individuals whose activities and interests focus on public administration and management with an emphasis on the development and use of human resources. IASIA has a world-wide membership of over 170 institutions in 70 countries as well as several international organizations. The activities of its members include education and training of administrators and managers, and related research, consulting, and publications.

National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration The National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration is an institutional membership organization that exists to promote excellence in public service education. The membership includes U.S. university programs in public affairs, public policy, public administration and nonprofit management.

American Association of School Administrators The American Association of School Administrators advocates for the highest quality public education for all students, and develops and supports school system leaders.

American Educational Studies Association The role of AESA is to provide a cross-disciplinary forum wherein scholars gather to exchange and debate ideas generated from the above mentioned areas. This cross-disciplinary commitment of the organization creates a landscape for the discussion of broader policy issues such as minority studies, gender studies, multicultural education, democracy, and issues of educational equality and equity.

National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) empowers school psychologists by advancing effective practices to improve students’ learning, behavior, and mental health.

National Association for Bilingual Education NABE’s mission is to advocate for our nation’s Bilingual and English Language Learners and families and to cultivate a multilingual multicultural society by supporting and promoting policy, programs, pedagogy, research, and professional development that yield academic success, value native language, lead to English proficiency, and respect cultural and linguistic diversity.

National Council for Teachers of Mathematics The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is the public voice of mathematics education, supporting teachers to ensure equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students through vision, leadership, professional development, and research

National Council for the Social Studies Social studies educators teach students the content knowledge, intellectual skills, and civic values necessary for fulfilling the duties of citizenship in a participatory democracy.
