What I have been trying to hold myself to on a consistent basis is allowing myself a minute or two of practice right after I get out of bed. I find that I have the most clarity not right when I wake up, but shortly after I shake the feelings of sleepiness, that is when I can sit down and take two minutes to do my practice. I notice that since it is the beginning of my day, the rest of my day is usually more productive and focused when I can do my practice first thing in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>This morning was the first morning I could sit still and for two whole minutes actually focus without finding myself getting distracted or losing interest. I haven\u2019t particularly noticed myself gradually improving since starting about a month ago necessarily, but perhaps it has been getting easier to be able to focus during my practice. It was just a phenomenal experience being able to sit down and actually be undistracted, even for such a short period as two minutes. What I am hoping to see, and only time will tell, is that if I can continue this practice and improve the length of time I can maintain focus, hopefully that can carry over into other facets of my life and improve my ability to focus and concentrate as a whole.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday, February 6, 2016 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Woke up this morning and had a particularly interesting contemplative practice.
