Your success story starts here.

WaMu currently has nearly 2,000 branches in 14 states, from coast to coast, with 200+ annual

branch openings planned for in the near future, and these branches supply the vast majority of

sales volume in consumer loans and deposit accounts for one of America’s leading financial institutions.

This position is a high-impact position supporting WaMu’s substantial branch growth by developing

various decision frameworks through robust, insightful quantitative analyses and modeling. This

position will be expected to take partial/complete ownership for projects that include identifying suitable

markets for expansion, building predictive branch performance models, optimizing branch network through

relocations/consolidations/closures, and devising site selection frameworks.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have significant, demonstrable experience in retail/real estate problem

solving, statistical modeling, spatial & quantitative analysis, creating simple yet robust decision

frameworks, making recommendations to senior executives, and rapid pace execution through leadership,

influence & individual drive.  Number of years of experience is less important than the kinds of experience,

such as retail real estate portfolio optimization modeling for successful retailers and banks, real estate

market analysis, spatial interactive modeling, and retail location consulting.  Graduate work in statistics,

geography, or economics preferred but not required depending on level and type of experience.  This is a

high impact position and will require interfacing with senior executives across the branch network and at

headquarters.  Therefore, a strong professional demeanor and the ability to drive results across multiple

stakeholder groups is an absolute must, in addition to the requisite analytical capability.

Washington Mutual is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Anyone needing accommodation to complete the

interview process should notify the recruiter.
