About the Writing Center
Our goal at the Writing Center is to assist students with their Political Science, Jackson School of International Studies, and/or Law, Societies, and Justice writing assignments at any point during the writing process, from brainstorming to the final draft. We can also assist majors from these three departments with major, graduate, or law school applications; cover letters; internship applications; etc. The Director of the Writing Center is also available to provide feedback on graduate student papers: please contact her directly at writdir[at]uw[dot]edu.
Our Center is staffed with undergraduate tutors drawn from all three departments that support the Center. Having been accepted as majors by at least one of the supporting departments, many of our tutors have successfully completed introductory coursework in all three. They are trained and ready to assist students organize their written work so that it clearly and effectively communicates their ideas.
