The Idaho/UW Psychiatry Advanced Clinician track welcomes you to our website. Our program’s mission, to prepare third and fourth year psychiatry residents for clinical practice, is carried out by the dedicated faculty listed below. Collectively, we foster the professional and personal growth of our residents in the relaxed setting of Boise and other smaller communities in Idaho. Graduates of our program will have been exposed to a wide range of training sites, from busy urban psychiatric emergency rooms to inpatient units in mental health shortage areas.
My professional interests center on integrating psychiatry into primary care, psychodynamic psychotherapy and mindfulness in medicine. Psychiatry has much to offer other medical specialties including understanding patients beyond their symptoms, the therapeutic relevance of relationship and the absolute necessity for self-reflection in the medical provider. We are developing innovative ways to bring our expertise to the general medical community and the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho, a major training site of our program.
Personally, I have found Idaho a wonderful place to combine the practice of psychiatry with raising children. The access to the outdoors is immediate and sustained, the schools are excellent and the lifestyle is relatively hassle-free.
Thank you for taking time to view our website.
