Welcome to your Psychiatry Clerkship! For the next 6 weeks you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most interesting and challenging patients in medicine. An important goal for this clerkship is to increase your comfort level in working with individuals with psychiatric illness allowing you to be more effective physicians. Although most of you will not choose psychiatry as your profession I will guarantee all of you will work with patients with psychiatric illness. The skills you learn on this rotation will serve you well in your future as physicians. I hope you enjoy your rotation! PS. If you look closely at the images on the website it may become apparent they are not actually images of the brain but things that look like the brain. The images from left to right are: Celosia Argentea, a walnut, cauliflower and Brain coral. Course Chair Dr. Heidi Combs |
