Psychiatry Clerkship

General Information

This 6 week Psychiatry & Behavior Sciences clerkship provides both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric experiences. Students have primary responsibility under supervision of attending psychiatrists and residents for diagnosis and care of patients at UWMC, HMC, and VAMC (Seattle), Fairfax Hospital (Kirkland), Providence St. Peter Hospital (Olympia), North Star Behavioral Health (Anchorage), Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (Fairbanks), VA (Boise), Sacred Heart Medical Center (Spokane), Eastern State Hospital (Medical Lake),Wyoming Behavioral Institute (Casper), Behavior Health Services, CRMC, (Cheyenne), AWARE, INC (Helena), St. Patrick's (Missoula), or South Central Regional Clinic (Billings), Gallantin Mental Health Center (Bozeman). See Course descriptions by site. Acute inpatient, emergency room, crisis intervention, consultation and familiarity with psychopharmacology is emphasized. Some child and/or addiction psychiatry exposure may be offered at certain sites.
