General InformationThis 6 week Psychiatry & Behavior Sciences clerkship provides both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric experiences. Students have primary responsibility under supervision of attending psychiatrists and residents for diagnosis and care of patients at UWMC, HMC, VAMC, Alaska Psychiatric Institute (Anchorage), VA (Boise), Sacred Heart Medical Center (Spokane), Wyoming Behavioral Institute (Casper), St. Patrick's (Missoula), or South Central Regional Clinic (Billings). See Course descriptions by site. Acute inpatient, emergency room, crisis intervention, consultation and familiarity with psychopharmacology is emphasized. Some child and/or geriatric psychiatry exposure may be offered at certain sites. |
