Sleep Fellowship Program
The fellowship is designed as an integrated 12 month longitudinal experience with rotations at 3 sites: Harborview Medical Center (HMC), University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) and Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH). The majority of training occurs at HMC where the UW Medicine Sleep Center is based. A 12 month ½ day per week continuity clinic occurs at UWMC, where the sleep center has a satellite clinic that is well suited for this purpose. In addition a 1 month ½ day per week dental sleep clinic is based at UWMC. The SCH has a pediatric sleep center where fellows will spend at least 5 months for 1.5 day per week attending pediatric sleep clinics and interpreting pediatric sleep studies.
The sleep fellow’s clinical training experiences include general sleep clinics, inpatient sleep medicine consultation, supervised sleep study interpretation, training in technical aspects of polysomnography and polysomnography scoring, sleep-otolaryngology clinics, sleep dentistry clinics, cognitive behavioral therapy-psychology clinics, sleep research, and pediatric sleep medicine (clinics and polysomnographic interpretation).
