CURRENT RESEARCH
INTERESTS
My passion, both in patient care and clinical
research, is in critical care. The critical care
setting is an environment where physiology,
technology, and compassion join together. My
research interests are focused on better
understanding the disease processes affecting
patients in the Intensive Care Unit. In
particular, I am studying ways to better identify
and describe patients who develop Acute Lung
Injury, a serious lung disorder that affects many
ICU patients. Through epidemiologic studies,
clinical trials, and translational studies, I am
working with my colleagues to better understand
and combat this and other diseases affecting ICU
patients.
