Work Experience: Graduate Student Adviser, McNair/EIP, Center for Experiential Learning and Diversity; Research Assistant, PWFSL; Teaching Assistant, School of Forest Resources

Research: Determining the fire history and historical range of variation of high-elevation pine-oak forest in the Sierra de Manatlán Biosphere Reserve, México. Brooke is creating a master chronology of tree rings for various pine-oak plots within core and buffer zones of the biosphere reserve and is reconstructing the fire history of these areas in order to examine a hypothesized change in the fire regime following governmental protection from anthropogenic influences. Her research interests also include restoration ecology and the effect of climate change on fire regimes.
