Lavender Graduation 2009!!

Lavender Graduation is coming up!! Register for it here, mark your calender, dust off your best...whatever you want to wear!!

  • What the heck is it?!
Lavender Graduation is a special graduation ceremony that recognizes LGBT students of all races and ethnicities and acknowledges their achievements and contributions to the University of Washington as students who survived the college experience. Students look forward to this event not only because they share their hopes and dreams with one another, but also because they are officially recognized by the institution for their leadership, success and achievement.

  • When the heck is it?!
Wednesday, June 10th at 6pm (graduates please arrive by no later than 5:15pm)

  • Where the heck is it?!
The Don James Center, in Husky Stadium. Yes, the queers are taking over Husky Stadium!!

You can wear whatever you want!  This is your graduation and as queer folk we are often "required" by work, school, family, culture, etc. to dress in ways that do not neccesarily fit our tastes. If you wish to wear the cap and gown, wear it. If you want to appear in drag, do it. If you want to dress up, go for it. You want to be comfy, have at it. This is your night. Bring all of your identities and celebrate the awesomeness that is you and our UW queer communities!
