Tim
Library Coordinator

Tim is in his second year of library school here at the UW’s iSchool and is enjoying campus life immensely. Splitting his time between the Q Center, Seattle Central Community College’s library and the Comparative History of Ideas department, he is kept on his toes and mostly out of trouble. His goal as the Q Center’s guybrarian is to expand and hone the collection to help make it a useful and vibrant part of the center. He is crazy about chocolate pudding, documentary films and world travel. He hopes to work abroad in a library in the Middle East one day.

Kai
Programmer

Kai Kohlsdorf is a Ph.D. student in Women Studies currently
researching trans discourse and sex/uality, and transnational
sex/ualities.  He received his BA and MA in Women's Studies from the
University of Cincinnati.  He is a trans/genderqueer educator,
teaching both undergraduate classes and doing public speaking at
conferences and other venues.  One day he may even get that elusive
tenure track faculty position to fully infiltrate the theory producing
machines, unless community organizing and education snags him first.
Either way, he enjoys writing and living a life that makes others
supremely uncomfortable, while creating a space for those other'd to
feel comfortable.  His gender is a daily discussion, and right now
he's genderqueer/trans.

Rafael's picture
Programmer

His parents named him Rafael. He is an undergrad in Political Science and Comparative Ethnic Studies, but just wants to travel to far away lands.

Rafa likes Blue Moon, but not more than Jameson. Rafa likes blue, but not more than green. Rafa likes coffee but not more than Chai. Rafa likes mole, but not more than posole.  Rafa likes poetry but not more than music.  Rafa likes Calle 13 but not more than Lila Downs.

Graphics Design and Website

Often called an avant-garde genius and a revolutionary voice that has shattered the glass ceiling of the literary world, Virginia Woolf is one of my heroes. Being a creative writing major, sometimes I write stuff too.

I like putting myself into boxes and allowing words to define who I am - some of my favorites are: student, poet, musician, wannabe-existentialist, batcaver, ex-expat, and pre-ex-ex-expat.
